Jean Marie (Hartshorn) George 95, passed away on May 18, 2017 in Independence, Missouri at White Oak assisted living facility.

Jean was born on April 27, 1922 in Stroner, WY to Horace and Zaide (Mader) Hartshorn. She graduated from high school in Gillette, WY in 1940 and received her college degree in Education on Spearfish, SD.

She taught in Campbell County for 38 years, in town and country schools.

Jean married Jack George in May 1946. They had two sons, Allen George of Broadus, MT and Richard George of Jacksonville, FL.

Jean loved to paint, write, do crossword puzzles, and read.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, her brother Lewis Hartshorn, sister Lucile (Hartshorn) Cole.

She leaves her two sons, four grandsons, and one granddaughter, sister Grace Witherell as well as several great-grandkids and nieces and nephews.
