Gloria Mae (Arneson) Schuur, 79, of Pecatonica, since 1955, died Sunday, October 18, 2009, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness. Born February 9, 1930, in Elgin, the daughter of Edwin and Esther (Struck) Arneson. Graduated from Aquin High School, in Freeport. Married Harold E. "Harry" Schuur on September 6, 1951. Employed as a bookkeeper at I.C. Webb & Co., Rockford for 20 years. Dearly loved to spend time with her family and friends, fish and needlework, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Gloria is lovingly survived by her children, Debbie (John) Griffith of Colorado, Michael E. Schuur of Machesney Park, Kathy (Rick) Wagner of Winnebago, Patricia (Dennis) Lowe of Litchfield and Lori Schuur of Pecatonica; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Martha) Arneson of Ashton and Edwin (Sharlene) Arneson, Jr. of Chadwick; sisters, Dianna Mae Bryson of Mississippi and Esther Ann Kasiba of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and brother, Robert Arneson.
