Elmer Leroy Alcorn, 86, of Danville, passed away unexpectantly at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, where he had been rehabilitating from a fall.

He was born July 8, 1920 in Moline, the son of Jonah E. and Minnie B. Alcorn. His parents preceded him in death. He married Viola Lindberg on Sept. 18, 1947 in Catlin. She survives.

He is survived by a son, Vaughn (Saundra) Alcorn; a brother, Lamoine Alcorn; a sister, Ardith Cheuvront; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He had attended Danville Schools. After returning from the war, where he served with the U.S. Army, he soon joined Illinois Power Co. as a gas service technician retiring after 37 years of service with them.
