WILLIAM HENRY BILLHIMER

William Henry Billhimer, 81, a widely known resident and native of the Keezletown community and a former farmer and timber dealer, died Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Although he had been in declining health for the past year, he continued his usual activities up until a month ago. Little hope had been held for his recovery for the past three weeks. News of his death will be received with regret by his many friends. He was a quiet generous person whose interests were centered primarily around his family.

Mr. Billhimer was born Feb. 26, 1884 in the home place near Keezletown, where he had lived up until four years ago and was the son of the late Abraham and Sarah (Jones) Billhimer. He was married Dec. 25, 1907 at the Cross Roads Church to Miss Willie Walton of Keezletown. She survives him.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Keezletown Methodist church, with friends leaving from the Lindsey Funeral Home at 2:30. The services will be in charge of Rev. Lambert of the Keezletown Methodist Church assisted by the Rev. D.S. Lindsey of Timberville.

Pallbearers will be, G.W. Tutwiler, Joe M. Martin, W.C. Earman, E.A. Armentrout, Hiram Earman, Dave Chapman, Marian Koontz and M. W. Crowe.

Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. H.L. Michael, Keezletown; Mrs. Richard Cook, Portsmouth, Va.: Misslliette Billhimer, Timberville: ten sons, Joe, Harrisonburg, R.2: Jack and Lee now serving with the Armed Forces overseas; Jesse, Newport News: Alda, Keeezletown: Rush, Timberville: George, Seaman First Class, US Navy: Roy, Hugh, and Ray all of Timberville. Two brothers, Paul of Keezletown: and Hiram, of Wyoming: two sisters, Mrs. George Burke, Greeley, Colorado, and Mrs. Otis Diehl, Purcell Colo.

Five grandchildren also survive.

The body will remain at the Lindsey Funeral Home on S. Main St., until Sunday afternoon. Burial will be in the Keezletown cemetery.
