Jimmy Ray Adkins, 66 of Judson, died Thursday May 18, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 21, 1950 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Gerald V. and Hazel M. Birchfield Adkins.

Jimmy was a graduate of Talcott High School and was retired as a general concrete foreman for Flour Daniel Corporation. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Donna Jennings.

Survivors include two sons, one step-son, and one step-daughter, one brother, one sister, one step-brother, one grandson,several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday May 22, 2017 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Knob Church Cemetery at Elk Knob. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Harold Basham, Mike Gore, Junior Merrill, Mike Yopp, Emory Meadows and Dan Hoke.
