William R. Schendel, Jr., 77yrs old, resided in Pasadena, TX and passed from this life into eternal life January 20, 2013.
Bill was born in Rosenberg, TX, to Will and Charity May Schendel. He grew up on the family farm in Damon, TX, and attended Needville High School on land donated by his grandfather, August Schendel. He then left the farm to begin his second profession in the construction industry. He resided in Pasadena, TX, for the past 43 years. Big Bill was a man of high integrity who never uttered a negative word about another person. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Laverne Schendel; daughter, Pam Gossett and husband Bob; son, Bill Schendel and wife Tere; daughter, Luann Stampley and husband Steve; son, James Childs and wife Maria; daughter, Susie Shaw and husband Bill; grandchildren, Tracy, Mike, Will, Jeffrey, Tiffani, Mindy, Mitchell, Hannah, Beth, David, Matthew and Jonathan; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Swinney and husband Fred and numerous loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 24, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Will Schendel, IV, Mitchell Shaw, Jeff Ridlehoover, Craig Hammons, Richard Horbelt, Mark Fillman, Dale Levis and Terry Hickman.
