He was a 1955 graduate of Van Buren High School. Much of his working career was spent in the trucking industry working for both ABF and Ryder/PIE Nationwide. He was of the Methodist faith and a lifelong resident of Crawford County.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lola and Cleston Broome.
Funeral services will be graveside at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 22, 2016 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Donna (Black) Broome of Kansas City, MO; one son Michael Broome and his wife Laura of Kansas City, MO; one granddaughter Katie Breault and her husband Andrew of Kansas City, Mo, as well as their children Jaela and Josephine; one grandson, Matthew Broome of Bromfield Co; two sisters, Reba Ledbetter of Las Vegas, NV and Anita Marie Carr of South Carolina; one brother, Ronald Gene Broome of Livingston, TX; one sister-in-law, Goldia Chapman; nine nieces and nephews.
