Mattie Lou Blount Edgens, 75, native of McComb Ms, resident of Denham Springs La, died May 18th 2017. As a proud business owner of Pelican Propane for 43 years, Mattie brought joy and kindness to the community that she served. Born December 13th, 1941 to Hollis Blount and Lona Belle Johnston Blount in McComb Ms. Mattie's love mothered us all; her cooking fed the soul, and her conversations filled memories. Mattie is survived by son Darryl Edgens, wife Lacy and grandson Timothy Lowell Edgens; daughter Cheryl Edgens Daniel, husband Randy; son Matthew Edgens, wife Cheri and granddaughter Sierra Nichole Edgens; sister Patsy Blount Catt, husband Howard; brother Monroe Blount, wife Katherine; sister Ina Mae Blount Creel, husband Ralph; sister Linda Blount Johnson, husband Norman and sister Charollet Blount Randol. Mattie's sweet, compassionate heart blessed everyone that she met. Mattie is preceded in death by her parents Hollis Blount and Lona Belle Blount; sister Nellie Grace Blount; brother Kenneth Ray Blount; brother Billy Marvin Blount; nephew Norman Hollis Johnson; nephew Scott Blount and niece Laura Blount. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 21st at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs at 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, May 22nd 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with services to follow. Procession to Arcola Roseland Cemetery in Arcola, La.
