WILLIAM GRANT ADAMS, SR.,
aged 70 years, died at 3:40 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home, 51 East
North street, of heart trouble following a several weeks' illness.

Mr. Adams
was born in Greencastle, Pa., the son of John H. Adams and Anna Elizabeth
Stover. His parents removed to Waynesboro when he was Just a boy. He learned the
plumbing and tinning trade in Greencastle and had completed his trade at the age
of twenty. He followed his trade for fifty years, working in various places. For
approximately five years he conducted a place of business in Waynesboro.

He
was a member of the Trinity Reformed church and a member of the Men's Bible
class of that church. He was also a member of the Fraternal Home Insurance
society.

Surviving are his wife, Annie (Heney) Adams, formerly of
Fayetteville, and these children: Mrs. J. M. Foreman, West Second street; Mrs.
J. H. McClellan, West Second street; Mrs. C. M. MacPhee, at home, and William G.
Adams, Jr., East North street. Four sisters, Mrs. Harvey Ziegler, Hagerstown;
Mrs. F. A. Koontz, Washington; Mrs. Lee Diehl, Shippensburg, and Mrs. Paul
Merbitz, New York City; one brother, D. Stover Adams, East North street, and
nine grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday
afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late home, 51 East North street, in charge of
Rev. S. E. Lobach, assisted by Rev. B. Clinton Ritz. Interment will be made in
Green Hill cemetery.

The body may be viewed Thursday evening at the
home.
