Connie Sue Boggs age 71 of Elizabeth, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 after a courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 27, 1945 in Slate, WV, a daughter of the late Glen and Sylvia "Bea" Pyles Melrose.

Connie was a 1964 graduate of Parkersburg High School and had previously worked for the Department of Health and Human Resources. She enjoyed being outdoors, walking and taking care of her flowers. Her life was devoted to loving, caring for and being with her family. Connie was a member of the Merrill Chapel Church and attended Bethel Church, Rose Hill Rd.

Connie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Pastor Melvin Boggs; her son, Chad Strong (fiancée Kim Thomas) of Mineral Wells; her daughter, Melissa S. Strong Cline of Elizabeth; two step-sons, Eric Boggs of Parkersburg and Darin Boggs (Leticia) of Lakewood, Colorado; one brother, Wayne Melrose (Linda) of Slate, WV; one sister, Kathie Duncan of Mineral Wells; eight grandchildren, Amanda Strong, Shane Cline, Tyler Cline, Alex Strong, Adam Strong, Todd Cline, Kyla Boggs and Logan Boggs; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jo Villers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St, south Parkersburg with Dr. Leary VanHorn officiating.

Interment will follow at the Merrill Chapel Cemetery.
