From Dawson News March 1, 1961: Britton Barnes Barfield, one of Terrell County's oldest and most beloved residents, passed away at his home in the Graves community Monday afternoon, and many friends mourn his death. Since his rerirement from active work some years ago, "Uncle Brit", an ardent fisherman, had spent many hours in the company of friends pursuing his favorite pastime, and his happy dispostion made him loved by both young and old. He was born in Taylor County August 20, 1871, the son of the late Sally Barnes Barfield and Sol Barfield, and moved to Terrell County about 60 years ago. He was a retired farmer.
