John Albert Clester and Emma Shields were joined in the holy bonds of wedlock on the morning of July 4th by the writer of these notes. We wish these young people a useful and happy journey through life. Emma’s mother and the writer were young people together in Illinois. She had an excellent mother, but for several years she has been dead, and Emma has been deprived of her wise council; but all who know Emma say she emulates the virtues of her mother so. Bert has obtained a prize and likewise Emma has secured so excellent young man for a husband.
