James Donaldson Emerson Sr., Bartlett, TN, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Bartlett, TN on Thursday, April 27, 2017. A patriotic man with an enduring sense of humor, he was a loving husband, father, and Korean War veteran where he served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army. He retired from Velsicol Chemical Company. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mavis H. Emerson; his daughter, Donna S. Emerson of Louisville, KY; his sons, James D. Emerson, Jr. of Murray, KY; Jerry G. Emerson of Blue Springs, MO; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, at Forest Hill East, 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, TN 38133.
