William P. Gowan, 96, of Simpsonville, husband of the late Willie Mae Pittman Gowan, died May 15, 2017.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late William W. and Myrtle Hardin Gowan.
William served in the US Army and was a Loom Fixer in the textile industry. He was a member of Potters Clay Fellowship in Easley.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Lewis-Howard and husband Robert of Simpsonville; one grandson, Will Lewis and wife Amy of Simpsonville; and three great grandchildren Allison Lewis, Belle Lewis and Case Lewis.
