Billie E. Henry, 89, of Crossville, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
He was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Calfkiller, TN, son of Robert Henry and Minnie (Eldridge) Henry.
Billie worked as an engineer for the State of Tennessee as bridge inspector. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and served as choir member, usher, parking watch and greeter and worked with Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief, No Child Hungry and 50+ Adult Ministry. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie Henry, Crossville; daughter, Pam (Gary) Walker, Bradenton, FL; grandson, Matthew (Linda) McCulloch, Redwood City, CA; granddaughter, Heather Sunaoka, Maebashi, Japan; and great-grandchildren, Elias and Mila McCulloch and Sophia Sunaoka.
Billie was preceded in death by his father, Robert Henry; mother, Minnie (Eldridge) Henry; and 12 brothers and sisters.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held at Central Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Roland Smith and Bro. Billy Kemp officiating. Interment in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
