Eugene J. "Bo" Bobish, 78, formerly of Shenandoah, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away Thursday at the Devoted Hearts Assisted Living, Chandler.

Born in Shenandoah, July 9, 1938, he was a son of the late John and Olive Witkowski Bobish.

He was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Gene retired from the Air Force as a staff sergeant after 20 years of service.

Gene was a member of the former St. Stephen's Church, Shenandoah. He was a very active and proud member of the American Legion Post 26 in Mesa, Ariz.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Jeanine Niochau Bobish, who preceded him in death on July 15, 2010, and a brother, Cyril Bobish.

Surviving are two sons, John A. Bobish (Lori),Chandler, and Patrick DuBois (Annie), Cave Creek, Ariz.; a daughter, Jacqueline Bobish, Cloquet, Minn.; a brother, Robert "Bob" Bobish, Shenandoah Heights; a sister, Elizabeth M. "Betty" Coyle (James), Bluffton, S.C.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
