He married Marian Nelson and they farmed near Cambridge until he retired and they moved to Cambridge in the fall of 1927.
On the day of his death, he boarded a train to go and visit his sister, who lived in Moline, IL.
Just after exiting the train, he was crossing the train tracks and was struck by a switch train and died instantly.
He was survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hulin and Mrs. Esther Russell;
a son, George Anderson; two sisters,
Mrs. Ida Austerland and Mrs. John Hulting
and a brother, Andrew Anderson.
