Katherine Martin Yount, 90, went home to her heavenly family May 11, 2017.
Katherine was the 10th of 11 children born to Frank and Bessie Martin of Catawba County.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Harvey Yount, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Drenda Moore and husband Terry of Hickory, Neda Deal and husband Jim of Hickory; two brothers: Virgil Martin and wife Dorothy of Hickory, Kenneth Martin and wife Sonya of Hendersonville, NC; four grandchildren: Douglas Moore of Conover, Tracy Chatham and husband Travis of Hiddenite, Timberly Schatke and husband Chris of Aurora, CO, Shane Deal of Charlotte; five great-grandchildren: Tyler Moore of Dacula, GA, Taylor and Tate Hansard of Cumming, GA, Caleigh and Ean Walters of Aurora, CO.
Katherine was a member of Westview United Methodist Church for over 75 years, where she was a member of the Clarissa Jones Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Westview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cindy Wechter officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
