Mr. Hoy (Red) Henderson Alexander, 91, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 18, 1926 in Davidson County, NC to Charles Clayton Alexander and Mary Neva Conrad Alexander. He was a graduate of Pilot High School and was a US Army veteran having served during WWII. He worked with his brother, Cleve, as the parts and service manager at Chairtown Motors and was a lifetime member of the Pilot Lions Club. He was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ and the Marie Alexander Sunday School class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline (Jackie) Saunders Alexander on March 20, 2014, whom he married on March 24, 1951; and his brothers, Cleve and Jim Alexander. Surviving is his son, David Alexander and wife Tamara of Thomasville; granddaughters, McKenzie Alexander and Haley Alexander; sisters, Ruth Jarrett and Carol Conally and husband Harold, both of Thomasville; and eight nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at Calvary United Church of Christ Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held. Mr. Alexander will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville from Sunday, May 14, 2017 until the private graveside service. In lieu of flowers and food, memorials may be directed to Calvary UCC Cemetery Fund, 1410 Lexington Ave. Thomasville, NC 27360.
