Martha Stice Houchin, 64, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, in Orlando, Fla.

She was a daughter of the late Everett and Mildred Stice of Brownsville.

She had a 42-year career in nursing that began at The Medical Center at Bowling Green and retired as an instructor and administrator in Western Kentucky University's associate degree of nursing program.

Her deepest love was for her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed spending her time reading on the deck at the lake, rooting for the Hilltoppers, teaching expectant parent and nursing classes, cooking everyone's favorite meals, as well as encouraging and helping people in any way.

Survivors include:
her husband
3 daughters all of Bowling Green
6 grandchildren
1 sister of Coldwater, Michigan
2 brothers of Brownsville
and several nieces and nephews

A celebration of her life held Tuesday at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel.

Visitation held Monday at the funeral home.

In memory of Martha, the family encourages you to celebrate her joyful life by planting lilies, daffodils or tulips as annual reminders of the happiness she rooted in her friends and family.
