Wanda R. Sims, 72, Overland Park KS, passed away August 22, 2001, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday August 25, 2001, at Maple Hill Funeral Home; burial in Maple Hill Cemetery Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Wanda was born near Caplinger Mills, MO, to Herman F. And Nora E. Keith on January 24, 1929, and as a young child moved to Osceola, MO.She had lived in the KC area since 1948. Wanda was married to Vernon Ardell Sims on May 24, 1949. To this union were born two children, Jerry Eugene Sims and Marilynn Joan (Sims) Ford. Wanda worked for Microfilm Foto Film, Russell Stover Candy, and retired from Deluxe Check Printers in 1977. Wanda joined the Church of God of Prophecy in June of 1956. Wanda Always said, "A person should live every day as if it were their last." Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Hershal W. Keith and Warren Glen Keith, Survivors include her husband, Vernon A. Sims of the home; a son Jerry E. Sims, Lenexa, KS; a daughter and her husband, Marilynn and David Ford, Overland Park, KS; tow brothers, Alden Keith, El Dorado Springs, MO, Herman Keith, Rocky Mount, MO; three grandchildren, Christy L Gantt, Scott L. Ford and Stephanie D. Reynolds; two great-grandchildren, Lauren E. Gantt and Aubree L. Gantt. She admitted that she made several mistakes in her life. She is forgiven and is with her Lord and Savior and Savior Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, love, and fond memories for her family. (Arrangements: Maple Hill Funeral Home)
