Robert W. Mooney, 61, of Tobyhanna died on Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the loving companion of Betty Knecht, at home. He was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Phillipsburg, N.J. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Robert was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 509, Tobyhanna; a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Tobyhanna; and a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians of Monroe County. He was employed by Richard Storm Surveyors of Tobyhanna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Main Street, Tobyhanna with Father Michael J. Kloton as the celebrant. Military burial will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be viewings from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 35 Sterling Road/Route 196, Mount Pocono.
