Funeral services were March 4, 2000, for Henry Al "Hank" Wolterman, 69, of Storm Lake, Iowa, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Mr. Wolterman died March 1, 2000, of cancer at Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake. Father Brian Danner officiated with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Farber and Otteman Funeral Home. Military graveside services were provided by AMVETS Post 66 of Storm Lake.
He was born April 17, 1930 in Breda, Iowa, to George and Annie (Steinkamp) Wolterman. He graduated from Ida Grove High School, Ida Grove, Iowa, in 1949 and served in the Army Reserve from 1951-53 as a paratrooper. He married Mary Tillman on Feb. 14, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. They lived their entire married life in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Mr. Wolterman was in the wholesale building products business for 40 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, AMVETS Post 66 and a volunteer with the Military Honor Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Storm Lake; four children and their families; Lori and Jim McDermott and Allison of Omaha, Neb.; Tracy and Dale Anderson, Jacob and John of Harcourt, Iowa; Jeff and Polly Wolterman, Derek and Conner of Newell; and Sydney ETERAN OF 504 AIRCRAFT and Dave Miller, Cory, Zach and Austin of Storm Lake, Iowa; two sisters, Merita Reiff of Ida Grove, Iowa; and Roseanne Van Boxtel of San Miguel, Calif; and five sisters-in-law, Conley Wolterman and Ardyce Wolterman of Ida Grove, Iowa; Lois Wolterman of Parker, Ariz.; Roberta Wolterman of Reading, Calif.; and Jean Wolterman Mortenson of Cherokee, Iowa.
