Verlin Nadine Arthur, 91, of Hurt died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
She was born April 16, 1926 in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late R.M. Arthur, Sr. and Tommie Swain Arthur. She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist and had a great love for her family and animals.
She is survived by a niece, Regina Shelton and her husband, Ronnie; five nephews, Kevin Arthur and his wife, Cindy, Joseph Arthur and his wife, Shelvia, Steven Arthur, Randall Foster, and Rodney Foster and his wife, Janice; and two sisters-in-law, Janie Arthur and Elizabeth Arthur.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Merriman, Goldie, Winford, and Hayes Arthur; a sister, Lois Foster; a niece, Deborah Arthur; and a nephew, Bruce Arthur.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2017 at New Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Steve Morris with interment to follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church and other times at the residence of Regina and Ronnie Shelton, 641 Level Run Rd., Hurt.
