My Aunt Edna, sister to my Nana Helen Holst Higgins. Was a 2nd Nana to us after ours died too young. A beautiful lady. Made the best cakes in town and decorated them like a pro. How I miss those birthday cakes and her gifts always wrapped in colorful tissue paper. Wife of Thomas F. Walter, mother to Robert & Donald. Her first child Thomas predeceased her in 1929 living only about 9 weeks. Daughter of Henry C. Holst & Theresa (Tessie) Costello Holst. Older sister to Helen V. Holst Higgins(1910-1960) and Vera Holst (1913-1917). Older brother Charles Holst died in 1908 after only 6 days, before Edna was even born. Her constant companion a little black terrier mix named Shotsie was always at her side and never left the property. He went missing after her death, probably searching for her. I hope you are with her Shotsie.
