Services Tuesday for Mrs. C Abrahamson

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolina Abrahamson, who died early Sunday morning, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. H.R. Ekerberg, of Monmouth, a former pastor of the church in charge.
Bearers were Arthur Abrahamson, Malcolm Abrahamson, DeWayne Charlson, Harold Norene and Raymond Norene, all grandsons of the deceased, and S 1/C Robert Swanson, a grand nephew.
The floral tributes were beautiful and in charge of Mrs. Alice Anderson, of Englewood, California and Mrs. Scott Lawrence. Burial was in Altona cemetery.
Carolina Swanson Abrahamson was born in the province of Jonkoping, Sweden, May 4, 1847, and passed away at Altona November 28 at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 24 days.
She came to America in 1873 and on July 19 of the same year was united in marriage to Charles Abrahamson in Princeton. She lived in Malden until 1882 when she moved to Altona, where she lived until her death except for some time spent at the home of her son August at Aurora and also at the home of her son Herbert in Galesburg.
She was the mother of six children, two of whom survive, August, of Aurora, and Herbert of Galesburg. Four children preceded her in death: Emma, who died in infancy; albert in 1904; Hilma in 1940; Oscar in 1942, Her husband, who was a railroad man, passed away in 1927.
In 1902 she became a member of Immanuel Lutheran church at Altona and had been a faithful member and at the time of her passing was Immanuel's oldest member.
Mrs. Abrahamson is survived by her two sons, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She has three grandsons in service; Lt. Leonard Abrahamson, stationed in England; Pfc Kenneth Abrahamson, in Michigan, and Clarence Abrahamson of the Seabees in California.
Her son Herbert of Galesburg was unable to attend the funeral services on account of being ill. Out of town relatives and friends in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Abrahamson and Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Abrahamson of /Aurora; Mrs. Ray Ness and son Malcolm of Oswego; Mrs. Herbert Abrahamson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Abrahamson, Mrs. Leonard Abrahamson, Mrs. Bert Eskridge and Mrs. Laura Lindstrom of Galesburg; Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Charlson and daughter Leone of Andover; Mrs. Kenneth Abrahamson of Cambridge; Mrs. H.R. Ekerberg and son Jimmie of Monmouth; S 1/C Robert Swanson of North Port, Long Island, New York, and Mrs. Alice Anderson, of Englewood, California.
