David Lee Long, 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 7, 2017, surrounded by his family and close friends. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, Waples Baptist Church, Granbury, Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park, Granbury, Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, Texas. David was born Nov. 2, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, to Cecil and Barbara Long. He was a beloved husband, father of four and grandfather. He was known for his excellence in music and 45 years of dedicated ministry. He possessed the admirable qualities of kindness and being a peacemaker. He had a love of people. His sense of humor made him the life of the party. David was an excellent mentor and teacher. He was preceded in death by his dad, Cecil Long; and son, Delton Lee Long. Survivors: David is survived by his wife, Debbie Long; children, Dwana Long - Healy and husband, Michael, Dayla Bishop and husband, Wes, and Derek Long; grandchildren, Zack Bishop, Ryan Bishop, Emorie Long and Kate Long; mom, Barbara Long; sister, Darlene Morris and husband, Don; and numerous other family and friends.
