OPAL RHODEHOUSE COLLINS

July 21, 1916 ~ March 23, 2014

"She was loved and will be greatly missed."

Opal Rhodehouse Collins, 97, of Vancouver, WA, passed away March 23, 2014. She was born in Rigby, ID to Edwin and Lizzie Hunziker.

Opal worked many years as a seamstress, before retiring from Jantzen Knitting Mills.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, sewing, and gardening. Just a few years ago, she was still canning her own home grown tomatoes and her much requested Raspberry Jam. It was she that started our family's tradition of "Christmas" Peanut Brittle that still lives on today.

Opal is survived by her children, Barbra Rhodehouse (Jim) Arionus, Gary (Corkey) Rhodehouse and Vickie Rhodehouse Goodman; one brother; three sisters; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kay S. Rhodehouse; her second husband, Herbert Collins; and grandsons, Daniel and Jeremy Arionus.

The family expresses their thanks to the caretakers and Hospice for her care.

Services will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, on March 31st, 2014 at 12:30 p.m.
