Mr. Allen Vernon Aday was born March 21, 1924 in Denton, Texas to Vera Ollie Melton and Isaac Burleson Day. Later, according to the 1930 census, Vera Ollie Melton then became married to Dean Lee Aday on December 5th, 1928. Allen became the stepson of Dean Lee Aday and therefore takes Dean's last name of Aday


He passed away on Friday, February 10th, 2006 at The Texoma Specialty Care Center in Denison, Texas. Allen attended Carpenter's Bluff Schools. He married Edwinna Taylor of Denison on April 11, 1943


Mr. Aday was a retired conductor from the MKT Railroad with 42 years service. He was a former member of Trinity Methodist Church. Mr. Aday served in the National Guard, the Texas National Guard, 36th Signal Co., 36th Infantry Division. He was a former Local Chairman of The United Transportation Union for 16 years and was Vice General Chairman of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen while serving on the Board of Directors for the MKT Railroad Hospital Association in Denison, TX. He was also a member of the Denison Elks Lodge #238 for 41 years


Mr. Aday is survived by his sons, John Robert Aday of Denison, and Terry Lynn Aday of Bedford, Texas; Grandchildren Sean and Lisa Aday of Mesquite, Texas. Allen's wife, Edwinna Aday, passed away on April 24th, 2015 and Allen's oldest son, Michael Lee Aday passed away on November 10th, 2023. Allen's sisters JoAnn Minor passed away on March 17th, 2010 and sister Mary Louise Layton passed away on November 8th, 2013. Brother David Leroy Aday passed away on November 16th, 1992. Grandchild Brian Aday passed away on July 23rd, 2021
