Jessie L. Staples, 47, died Feb. 7, 2007, in Columbus. Services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at True Vine MB Church in Artesia with the Rev. Dewayne Fulton officiating. Burial followed at True Vine Cemetery. West Memorial Funeral Home of Starkville was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Staples was born April 7, 1959, in Lowndes County to James Staples Sr. and the late Nethe Willis Staples. He was employed with Falcon Construction and was a Baptist. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Linda Staples of Columbus; sisters, Willie Ann James and Mary Staples, both of Columbus; and brothers, Johnny Peoples and Tommy Staples, both of Columbus. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
