Edward was born March 4, 1835, in Virginia, the son of James Houchins and Elnora (Harden) Houchins, both born in Virginia. He was married to
Mary L. Wilcox . Edward was a farmer.
Arrangements were under the care of E.W. Herndon Undertaking Services in Fulton, Missouri. Burial was in Ebenezer Church Cemetery.
