Fall River - Carlton A. Lees, 75, of Westport passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Shirley E. (Collins) Lees.

Born in Westport, son of the late Albert E. and Elizabeth A. (Bowers) Lees, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Lees operated Carlton A. Lees - Attorney at Law, Westport. He enjoyed Westport town meetings and politics, serving 3 terms as Selectman from 1958 - 1967, serving as Town Moderator and as Town Council.

He also served as Freetown Town Council for 33 years. Mr. Lees was a member of the Westport Point United Methodist Church, a Mason of the Noquochoke A.F. & A.M. Lodge, Westport, a charter member of the Westport Lions Club, a member of the American Legion Post #0145, Westport and was a member of the Westport Grange for over 60 years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

Including his wife, he is survived by a son: Wayne C. Lees of Westport; 2 daughters: Sandra J. Caya of Westport and Susan E. Brayton of Westport; 3 grandchildren: Nikki L. Caya, Andrew E. Caya and Benjamin C. Brayton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was father of the late Scott A. Lees and brother of the late Albert E. Lees, Jr. and Robert J. Lees.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 25, 2007 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a service at Westport Point United Methodist Church at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Wednesday 4 - 8 P.M. with a Masonic Service by the Noquochoke Lodge A.F. & A.M. at 7:00 P.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
