For 33 years, Mr. Ahern was a partner in the firm of Desmond and Ahern, 10827 S. Western. A longtime resident of the Beverly area, he received his accounting degree from De Paul University.
Mr. Ahern, a World War II veteran who served in Europe, belonged to various Chicago and Illinois accounting associations. In addition, he served on the advisory board of Little Company of Mary Hospital.
Survivors included his wife, Margaret Mary, nee Keilty; three sons: John, Neil, and Hugh; three daughters, Meg Oswald, Gabrielle Gribble, and Cecily; and six grandchildren.
Mass was offered at 10 a.m. today at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 10134 S. Longwood. Services will be at 9 a.m. at Kenny Brothers funeral home, 3600 W. 95th, Evergreen Park. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Worth. (Chicago Sun-Times (IL) - February 9, 1990)
