Joseph Mason was born in Philadelphia, PA—Son of Pattrick and Annie (nee Simcoe) Mason. Joseph attended a Philadelphia Catholic school. He entered the Army during WWI. He was gassed, sent to a Hospital, and sent home from Europe to recover. Joe entered the Army using his deceased brother's birth certificate to enter the service. He so much wanted to help his country. He joined the Navy during WWII. Joe was a true patriot. Joe's Life companion was Mary Snodgrass. In his old age, he moved to West Conshohocken, PA. to live with his brother-in-law James, and sister Veronica Leonard and family. In Jan of 1971, Front Street had a vast Natural gas explosion. Many of the Homes were blown up including his sister's home. Joe and his sister's family lost everything they had. Shortly after, he went to live at the Lee Towers Senior Living apartments in Conshohocken, PA, and later at the County nursing home in Royersford where he passed away from damaged lungs from being gassed during WWI.
