Jan 5, 1978 James A. Leonard Age 79 years old. Husband of Veronica Rita (nee Mason) Leonard of 435 Ford Street West Conshohocken, PA. Died early today in Fairmount Farms Nursing Home, in Roxborough section of Philadelphia. Mr. Leonard was born in West Conshohocken on August 8th, 1898. the youngest son of Edward and Elizabeth (nee Fahy) Leonard. Both came from Ireland. James's life was one of vigor and integrity. He had a strong work ethics. He was a religious man. He was very kind and a man of few words. James is survived by his loving wife Veronica and Nine Children: James, Gerald, Donald, Robert, Joseph, Patrick, Ann, Kathleen, and Miriam. He loved his 29 grand Children. James is survived by brother John A. Leonard. James played Baseball with the Conshohocken A's and liked Monday night Boxing. James worked from the age of 14 at a Philadelphia paper mill. James worked for 50 years for the Westfield Glassine Paper Mill, in West Conshohocken, Ballygo-Mingo Road, W. Conshocken, PA. His friends called him Benny Leonard after a famous boxer of his time. He was amazed when a man landed on the moon. He always told his children to learn something new every day.
