Rosie Mae Strickland completed her earthly journey at the age of 101 years old on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Hampton, VA entering into eternal peace with her LORD and SAVIOR, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held at Lamb Funeral Home in Concord, NC on March 16, 2017 from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.. A celebration of life will be held on March 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Holy Church of America in Concord, NC. Final Resting Place will be Rutherford Memorial Cemetery in Concord, NC.

Left to cherish her legacy are her children, Paul Brown of Latham, MD, Bertha Brown of Bronx, NY, Walter Strickland Jr. of Hampton, VA and Claude Strickland of Riverdale, GA (Marian). She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, sisters, loving husband, Walter Strickland Sr. and children Joe L. Brannum of Baltimore, MD, Eliza Brown of Long Island, NY and Betty Strickland of Newark, NJ. She also leaves 32 grandchildren and a host of great grands, great great grands, other family and friends.

Rosie was a devoted loving, charismatic, outgoing, witty daughter, wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. Full of life and energy throughout her 101 years on earth, she “never met a stranger” and was affectionately adored by everyone she encountered. She loved to travel, cook, sit on the beach and meet new people, but always found great joy spending time with family. Most of all, Rosie loved the LORD and dedicated her life to serve him. She will be missed immensely.
