Ann Elizabeth (Simcoe) was born April 17, 1869, on Rope Street, (Clegg's Yard) Rockdale England.
Ann was the daughter of William and Anne S. (formerly Judge) Simco. Sister to Margret, Mary, John, Catherine Cecelia, William, and Thomas Joseph Simco. Ann's family emigrated to America and lived in Philadelphia, PA.
On November 28, 1893, Ann married Patrick Mason at the Church of the Nativity, Church of the Nativity, Allegheny Ave. & Belgrade St., Philadelphia.Philadelphia County, PA. Ann was a mother of seven children: Mary (Mae), Andrew Patrick, William Andrew, Joseph, Ann Cecelia, Catherine Marie, and the youngest Veronica Rita Mason.
Ann's oldest child Mary (AKA Mae) 8 years old and her 10-month-old baby died a day apart in April 1902. Ann was a fine seamstress. She made the burial clothes for her two children in one night, while caring for still another sick child Patrick Joseph. (AKA Joe).
Ann fell ill at home on Kip Street while her daughter Veronica was home from school for lunch. Ann fell out of her rocking chair onto the kitchen floor, while Veronica was making a cup of tea for her mother. Veronica helped her back into her rocker and ran for help. Daughter Catherine ran to get a doctor, but it was too late for Ann. She passed away during her daughter's absence. The funeral was held at her residence 2906 Kip Street, Philadelphia, PA. Requiem High Mass was held at the Visitation R.C. Church, Phila., PA. Interment May 17, Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cheltenham Township. Montgomery County, PA.
