Leonard "Slim" L. Cole, age 93, of West Lebanon, Indiana, died at 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Waters of Covington.

Slim was born on April 20, 1924 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the son of Lawrence and Goldie (Huffman) Cole. He previously lived in Ohio, Michigan and Tangier, Indiana, moving to West Lebanon in 1963. He married Pauline V. Rodenizer on April 21, 1946 in Covington, Virginia. She preceded him on December 31, 2001.

Slim served in the US Army during World War II. He worked at Harrison Steel Casting Company and most recently as a truck driver for UAP Richter. Slim was a member of the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3318 Attica. He enjoyed hunting, camping, reading western books and watching western shows. He enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren.

Surviving are children, Larry Cole, Brenda (Ron) Jasper, Darlene Patterson (fiancé: Tony Pearson), Fay (Larry) Pruitt, Gerald (Karen) Cole and Norma Lacey; daughter-in-law, Carla Cole; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and siblings, Roy Cole, Viola Cupp, Delford Cole, Lester Cole and Earlene Lewis.

Slim was also preceded in death by his infant son, Steven Randall Cole; son, Clay Cole; son-in-law, Thomas Patterson, Sr. and siblings, Wilbur Cole, Frances Rose, Cloy York and Ireda Alderman.
