Sad Death of a Child.

Unusually sad circumstances mark the death Saturday morning at about 8:30 o'clock of Master Francis Stables, seven-year-old son of Rev. L. D. Stables, pastor of Bellamy's church.

The little boy, with his twin brother and older brother, had been living for some time with Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Wroten, at Ware Neck, until Mr. Stables could secure a housekeeper for the parsonage. Arrangements having been finally made so that the children could join their father, Mr. Stables drove his car to Ware Neck early Friday morning and returned with the three boys. The children had suffered with the whooping cough, but seemed as well as usual and in good spirits all day. At bedtime little Francis, however, seemed ill, and as he grew worse his father, at midnight, secured Dr. Davis, who, on examination, found the little fellow suffering with pneumonia. In spite of everything that could be done for him the child died Saturday morning.

Rev. Mr. Stables carried the little body to Hanover county Sunday morning, where it was interred by the side of the mother, who passed away 13 months ago. The sudden death was, of course, a terrible shock to the bereaved father and two brothers. There are also an elder and a younger sister of the deceased, with their mother's people in Hanover, who are likewise greatly bereft. The sorrowing family have the sincere sympathy of the community.
