Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Levi and Resida Cartier.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Charles E. Cartier, Jr. of Attleboro, Ronald A. Cartier of West Mansfield, Mass. and Robert G. Cartier of Swansea, Mass.; two daughters, Janice Leaden of Attleboro and Valerie Meunier of Burrillville; two brothers, Alfred Cartier of Central Falls and George Cartier of Cumberland; two sisters, Lillian Cartier of Florida and Jeanette Leone of Pawtucket and 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Attleboro.
