Suzanne Wheeler, 80, of Bowling Green and formerly of Grand Rapids, died Friday, February 2, 2007 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. Sue was born October 9, 1926 in Perrysburg to the late Paul and Bernice (Prentiss) Hausman. She married Howard E. Wheeler, Sr. on December 30, 1950 in Angola, Ind. and he survives in Bowling Green. Also surviving are four sons, Ronald G. (Viola) Jacobs, Grand Rapids, Melvin "Jake" (Judy) Jacobs, San Marcos, Calif., Spencer C. Jacobs, Aripeka, Fla. and Howard "Butch" (Lori) Wheeler, Jr., Grand Rapids; three daughters, Ruth Ann Collins, Valley Center, Calif., Kathleen C. (Thomas) Potter, Weston and Violet Sue (John) Serrato, Wayne; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Carlton G. "Cotty" Hausman, Grand Rapids. A sister, Helen Jane Morse, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Wheeler was a homemaker and had been cook and waitress in the Grand Rapids area for a number of years. She had also owned and operated Vi and Sue's Restaurant in Oroville, Calif. Sue was a member of Victory Chapel Fellowship in Cygnet and the Wood County Senior Center. She enjoyed buying and selling at Flea markets and garage sales and spending time with her family. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Wright Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2007. The Rev. William Best will preside with burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Memorials are suggested to Victory Chapel Fellowship, Cygnet.
