Frederick C. Palmer, 53, lifelong resident of Cape May, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

Fred graduated from Lower Cape May Regional High School in 1980. He was employed by the City of Cape May Public Works Dept. as a Senior Mechanic where he worked with dedication for over 28 years. He was also a proud farmer who enjoyed working his land and supplying produce to local residents at his produce stand, The Produce Shack.

Fred was terrific with his hands and he had a mind that enabled him to “fix things.” These talents and gifts caused him to enjoy building and re-building vintage cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles and pretty much anything with an engine.

Fred was a quiet man, a very hard worker, extremely honest, good-natured and always very eager to help. He enjoyed the simple things in life and most of all the love he shared with his family and dear friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Joura Palmer, as well as, his father-in-law, Raymond Ridgway.

Fred is dearly missed by his loving family which includes his wife of 30 years, Judi (nee Ridgway); daughter, Nikki; son, Victor; granddaughter, Mariah; brother, Edward Palmer; mother-in-law, Lillian Ridgway (nee McPherson); nephew, Edward; cousins, extended family; his dogs, Cheyenne and Jaxson and his best bud “Elvis The Turkey.”

PLEASE wear casual attire to Fred’s funeral service that will be held on Friday (Jan. 29th) at 11am in the First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Rd., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 9:30am until 10:50am.

Interment will be private and at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to: Toys for Tots c/o Kindle Auto Plaza (attn.: Denise), 525 Stone Harbor Blvd., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
