Norman was born on April 22, 1927, in Saginaw, Michigan, to John I. and Nellie M. (Dougherty) Cooper. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He loved to cook, visit the zoo, watch TV, especially WWE Wrestling, baseball and other sports and was an avid reader. He loved his cat companion, Angel.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Ritchie of Mansfield; and two grandchildren, Matthew Ritchie of Dallas, Texas and Kristy Ritchie of Sterling, Virginia.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Archie Cooper, George Cooper, Eddie Cooper and Mildred Cooper.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline, Ohio. The family will observe private military graveside services at a later date.
