Donald R. Berwager RED LION Donald R. ''Jett" Berwager, 74, died Friday, October 16, 2009, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Reba A. (Hannigan) Berwager for 55 years. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Road, Brogue, with the Rev. John B. Ferra, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family Born July 8, 1935, in Stewartstown, he was the son of the late Clinton J. and Blanche M. (Orwig) Berwager. Mr. Berwager was employed as a carpenter for 26 years by the former Paul L. Smith, Inc. of York, and by Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., for 21 years. Donald was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a NASCAR and country music fan. He was a Gift of Life donor and will always be remembered as a strong family man. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his children, Vicki Bode and her husband, Steve of Red Lion, Lonny Berwager and his wife, Sue of Dallastown, Steven Berwager and his wife, Patty of Florida, Kelly Berwager of Florida, and Deron Berwager of Florida; brother, Maynard Berwager and his wife, Lois of New Freedom; sister, Doris (Berwager) Lytle and her husband, Sterling of Monkton, Md., and Virginia; sister-inlaw, Erma Berwager of Jacobus; grandchildren, Jason Berwager, Jennifer Keefer, Matthew Berwager, Becky Letzkus, Donnie Letzkus, and Justin Letzkus; and great-grandchildren, Spencer, Sadie Lin, and Camden. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by grandson, John Harner; brother, Leonard Berwager; sister-in-law, Ruth Neuhaus; infant sister, Frances; and infant brother, Franklin.
