Fort Bend Herald, April 26, 2017:

Joann Eleanor Dotson, 80, journeyed from this temporary life and entered into the eternal life promised by Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, whom she served faithfully. She entered the gates of Heaven on April 25, 2017.

Joann was born on October 10, 1936 in Houston, TX to the late George and Alice Smith. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles C. Dotson, whom she shared 42 years with. Also welcoming her into Heaven was her son, Charles W. “Bubba” Dotson, whom she loved dearly.

Joann is survived by her daughter, Donna House and husband, Robert, daughter, Sharon Camacho and husband, Louis, son George Dotson and wife Tammy, daughter in law Susan Melancon, brother, Ralph Smith and wife, Inez, sister, Sarah Mathis and husband, Keith. She leaves behind several grandchildren, Jeremy House and wife, Regina, Brandy Smith and husband, James, Stacy Moore and husband, Randall, Stephanie Dotson, Buck Dotson, Timmy Camacho, Cody Camacho, Bradly Berry, Bo Berry, and Blair Berry. She also has several great grandkids whom she adored, Madlynn Weishiemer, Jacob Weishiemer, Abby House, Landon House, Rileigh Moore, Cooper Moore, Sydney Moore, and Adelita Camacho.

Joann believed in God and family, faithfully putting them above all else. She loved reading her Bible and had a collection of them with personal messages written in everyone. She often made comments about being ready to enter her Eternal Home.

Visitation and funeral services will be on Friday, April 28, 2017 with Dr. Becky Towne officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., and the funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the scholarship fund at Creekside Christian Fellowship in Needville, Texas. Mailing address: P.O. Box 1129 Needville, Texas 77461.
