Lena Ayer Kittrell, 78, widow of Jacob Kittrell of Cope, SC, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Covenant Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Alewine officiating.

Lena was born December 24, 1938 to the late Myles Ayer and the late Maude Copeland Ayer. Lena loved playing the piano, loved writing music, loved painting artwork and loved writing poetry, which she published. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Belinda Davenport of Fountain Inn, SC; a son, Troy Kittrell (Sherry) of Cope, SC; a granddaughter, Victoria Lauren Carter of Simpsonville, SC; two sisters, Blanche Crider of Williston, SC and Edna Weeks of Denmark, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Lena was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd A. Ayer and two sisters, Annie Mae McDonald and Virginia Ehrhardt.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P. O. Box 118, Orangeburg, SC 29116. Special thanks to Shelby Kittrell who unselfishly helped take care of her best friend of over 60 years, Regency Hospice-Angie Chavis, RN and Leslie Moran, CNA. Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, Orangeburg, SC assisted the family.
