Mr. Charles Vernon Davis, age 78, husband of Frances Caldwell Davis of 226 McKanic Rd., Union, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Davis was born in Union, SC on June 4, 1938 a son of the late Lucius Washington Davis and Fannie Belle Brannon Davis. He was retired from Coleman Upholstery where he worked for many years. Mr. Davis was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. He served with the South Carolina National Guard Union Unit for a number of years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Donna Owens and husband William R., Sr. of Whitmire; three sons, Charles V. Davis, Jr. and wife Lisa of Greenwood, Jimmy Dean Davis of Greenwood, and Dennis Ray Davis and wife Jodie of Union; one sister, Bonita McKeown of Union; four brothers, Paul Davis of Union, Roger Davis of Whitmire, Dennis Davis of Whitmire, and Otis Davis of Union; eleven grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Kenny Weaver, Rev. Walter Parham, and Rev. Todd Davis. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Sizemore, Randy Sizemore, Blake Sizemore, Jeff Davis, Shannon Davis, Matt Sizemore, Larry LeMaster, Jimmy Davis, Jr., and Justin LeMaster.
Visitation will be held 7:00 until 9:00 PM Wednesday evening at Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
