Wellford, SC---William Henry Bradey, Sr, 88, of 1521 Ballenger Rd died Friday, February 5, 2010 at home after a long illness. Born May 28, 1921, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the husband of Frances Merle Quinn Bradey and the son of the late William Franklin and Annie Charles Bradey. A graduate of Inman High School, he was retired from Inman Dry Cleaners after approximately 60 years of service/ownership. He was a member of the National Guard and a US Army veteran of World War II. He was also a long time member of Inman First Baptist Church, a former Training Union Director and a deacon.

In addition to his wife, Merle, survivors include a son, Charles Bradey and wife, Wanda of Inman; a daughter, Jane Walker and husband, Donald of Campobello; a daughter-in-law, Betty Ard Bradey of Surfside Beach; a step daughter, Gayle McCants and husband, Theron of Reidville, SC; a step-daughter-in-law, Sharon Valentine Quinn of Fayetteville, NC; brothers, Ludie Brady and Luther Brady and wife Velma and a sister, Bernice Newman of Inman; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Emma Sue Lee Bradey; a son, William Henry Bradey, Jr; a stepson, Steve Andrew Quinn; and a step great grandson, James Carson Lindsey.

Visitation will be held in the atrium of the Inman First Baptist Church on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 1:30 until 3:00PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00PM with Rev. Ben Herlong and Herman Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Inman First Baptist Church Building Fund, 14 N. Howard St., Inman, SC 29349 or to Piedmont Hospice, 1865 E. Main St., Suite F, Duncan, SC 29334.
