She graduated from TCU in 1965 and later obtained a master’s degree from WTSU.
She taught school in Amarillo for a few years before marrying Charles Steed in 1972. After marriage, she worked in the family business of buying, developing, selling, and financing land in Colorado and also served as a stay-at-home mom for their daughter Susan, who was born July 4, 1975.
Diane loved the Lord with all her heart and faithfully served in various ministries at First Baptist Church, the church she loved. She courageously fought cancer for 25 years and went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charley, her parents, two brothers, an aunt, and an uncle.
Survivors include her daughter Susan Steed, a sister-in-law Ann DeGrassi, 5 nieces, 6 cousins, and her beloved black poodle, Budi.
