Obituary from The News-Examiner (Montpelier, ID) - Thursday, November 22, 2012:

Arleen Ida Hemmert Johnson, 71, of Ovid, Idaho, passed away November 19, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Dana Johnson, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a tremendous fight with a prolonged illness. Arleen was born November 2, 1941 in Montpelier, Idaho, to Robert Hans and Ida Maria Buttars Hemmert.

Arleen graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho, in 1960. After graduation she began a career with First Security Bank in Montpelier before she met her sailor and fell in love. Arleen married Willard Gene Johnson of Ovid, Idaho, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 3, 1970. There wasn't even time to open the wedding gifts as she began her journey with him across an ocean. Marrying a career military man, Arleen was uprooted from her country life and transplanted into life in the big cities of San Diego, San Francisco, and Chicago, and even to the outback of Australia. It was there that she was blessed with her two greatest gifts, her son, Laron Royce Johnson and her daughter, Dana Marie Johnson. A mother with greater love, pride, and devotion to her children has never before existed. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Arleen is survived by her husband, Willard Gene Johnson of Ovid, Idaho and her children Laron (Cathy) Johnson of Rigby, Idaho and Dana Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and her two grandchildren who she loved so much, Dalton Blaze Johnson and Allie Laurel Johnson both of Rigby, Idaho. She is also survived by two brothers, Lloyd Hemmert of Salt Lake City, and LaVor (Arlene) Hemmert of Liberty, Idaho and a sister-in-law Jennie Hemmert of Liberty.

Arleen was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Don Hemmert of Liberty, Idaho and Clyde Hemmert of Richfield, Utah.

Arleen's wishes were to not have a formal viewing and service. She wanted to be remembered as she was and to have the memories of her be happy ones. Interment will be at the Ovid Cemetery with attendance by the immediate family only. A family visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012, at her childhood home in St Charles, at the courtesy of her sister-in-law Evelyn Swartz from 2 to 4 p.m. at 176 North 1st West, St Charles, Idaho.
